Occupational Therapy Sessions
At Trauma OT we offer one to one and group occupational therapy sessions, our sessions are tailored to meet your needs and always using our highly experienced therapists who specialise in mental health, trauma recovery and neurodivergence.Â

Trauma OT therapists don't solely rely on sterile clinic spaces, instead, we're able to suggest affordable sensory equipment that can be used in the safety of your own home or garden. The focus of our work is always on increasing functioning in everyday life, whether that’s issues to do with self care, leisure or productivity/education.

Clinic-based Ayres Sensory Integration (ASI) occupational therapy sessions are for young people whose sensory processing differences are affecting participation, regulation, confidence, movement, play, learning or everyday functioning.

ASI intervention is delivered following a specialist assessment and clinical reasoning process. Sessions take place in a therapeutic sensory environment and are designed to be safe, motivating, holistic and appropriately challenging.

Sessions may involve activities using equipment such as swings, climbing apparatus, crash mats, balance equipment, tactile materials and movement-based play. The aim is not simply to provide sensory activities, but to support participation, adaptive responses, regulation and functional development in a way that is meaningful to the young person.

Parent/carer involvement is valued. Depending on the young person’s needs, this may include feedback, joint planning, home recommendations and liaison with education settings.

Session length: 50 or 60 minutes
Location: Clinic location in York
Fee: £110 per session
