Meet Our Award-Winning Team

Trauma OT is a York-based occupational therapy practice founded in 2022 with a focus on complex trauma and has grown to reflect the people we work with: many are neurodivergent, have experienced trauma, or both.

We provide assessment and treatment for children and adults who have been exposed to trauma and are experiencing a range of developmental problems, including difficulties related to being neurodivergent, dissociative symptoms, sensory processing issues and emotional dysregulation.

We offer a non-judgemental and compassion focussed approach to practice and warmly welcome referrals from individuals, parents/careers, schools, local authorities and other independent organisations/health professionals.

Hannah McNulty

Founder / Occupational Therapist

Hannah is an Occupational Therapist with approx. 20 years’ experience supporting young people and adults with mental health, trauma, sensory processing and everyday functioning. Hannah is a specialist in complex and developmental trauma, attachment, sensory regulation, neurodivergence and dissociation.

I take a holistic, body-informed approach to therapy, recognising that our nervous system, sensory needs, relationships, environments and life experiences all influence how we manage daily life.

Hannah has worked across NHS, social care, private hospital and independent settings, from Occupational Therapy Assistant through to Clinical Lead. She also provides clinical supervision, support students and offer consultation and training to other professionals.  She has also worked with Adoption Matters, supporting adopted children, young people and families through trauma-responsive, sensory-informed occupational therapy.

Hannah has a particular interest in working with teens and adults experiencing complex emotional, relational and dissociative difficulties. This includes supporting people who experience dissociation, feel disconnected from themselves or their surroundings, or are living with a dissociative disorder.

Alongside her trauma-informed practice, She specialises in supporting neurodivergent people, including autistic people, ADHDers and those exploring their neurodivergent identity.

As an Associate Occupational Therapist at The Divergent Space, Hannah contributes to autism and ADHD assessment pathways and provide post-diagnostic support, sensory regulation assessments, functional assessments and workplace-adjustment recommendations. Working collaboratively with people to make sense of their experiences, build on their strengths and develop practical strategies that support regulation, participation and a more manageable daily life.
